Breathwork

Slow, intentional breathing patterns that shift the body out of sympathetic 'fight or flight' and into parasympathetic rest. Held in small groups by candlelight.

Breathwork is the most direct way to speak to the nervous system. A consistent practice teaches the body that it is safe to rest, even when life is loud. At The Black Salt Room, sessions are held in groups of no more than six, by candlelight, with bolsters and blankets always within reach.

What a session looks like

You arrive ten minutes early, settle onto a mat, and meet the others quietly. We open with a check-in and a body scan. The active breathing portion runs about twenty-five minutes, paced with slow music. Afterward, a long integration in stillness, often with a guided body scan or silence.

Who breathwork is for

People who feel wired and tired. People in recovery from burnout. People who want a tool for anxiety, sleep, or grief. Not recommended in pregnancy, with retinal detachment, severe asthma, recent cardiovascular events, or active psychosis. If you are unsure, send a note and we will talk it through.

Private breathwork

Private sessions are paced to you. They are longer, quieter, and built around what you need that day. Ideal for first-timers, for working with a specific concern, or for people who simply prefer one-on-one.
